Meet the Speaker

Dr. J. Christopher Mendler, MD Sports Medicine Physician

Dr. Mendler is a board-certified sports medicine physician with nearly 30 years of clinical experience in sports medicine and concussion management. He has cared for professional, collegiate, high school, and youth athletes, and has worked alongside Athletic Trainers throughout his career to improve athlete care.

Dr. Mendler served on the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Sports Medicine Advisory Committee for nearly 20 years, including as Chair from 2021–2025. He also directed a concussion management program that supported more than a dozen schools and thousands of student-athletes, bringing a practical, real-world perspective to concussion assessment and return-to-play decision-making.
